The Craftsman's Cottage
A luxury holiday cottage on the South West Wiltshire & Dorset border which immerses the guest in the best of British Craft
As seen in
The Craftsman’s Cottage is a luxury holiday home which immerses the guest in British craft from furnishings, artwork and decorative objects to the carefully considered welcome hamper of award winning British craft food and drink. The Kitchen cupboards groan with tableware from Another Country, John Julian and David Mellor whilst the bathrooms are stocked with Bramley Bath Products made from English plants in Somerset.
Sourcing works of British craftsmanship from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales: crafts made with integrity in their materials, design and manufacture. Pieces are mixed from different historical periods. It is a design scheme that resonates. The 17th century carved oak coffer, the mid century Ercol sideboard, the 18th century delicately painted landscape painting alongside the David Mellor tableware, Yorkshire wool curtains and contemporary ceramics, are all together here as glorious acknowledgements of British craft.
Providing a real chance to see these items in a real context, to look at, feel, live with and experience their beauty and good design. If you can’t bear to leave without taking the pieces home, most of them are available to buy.
